1900.] OF THE SENATE. 875 PETITIONS. MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS. Mr. Applegarth presented a petition from Jas. H. Dean and 134 other voters of Dorchester county. for a General Local Option Law. Mr. Bouic presented a petition from John T. Baker and 39 other citizens of Montgomery county, for the same. Mr. Messick presented a petition from Silas Spanklin and 21 other citizens of Caroline county, for the same. Which were severally read and referred to the Com- mittee on Temperance. ORDERS. On motion of Mr. Crothers, it was Ordered, That no bill be made the Special Order for to-night, and that to-night's session be devoted exclu- sively to the passage of Senate bills, and alter the Sen- ate Third Reading file is closed, then to the House Bills on their Third Reading and final passage. Whice was adopted. On motion of Mr. Rohrback, it was Ordered, That the Committee onOlaims pay to James F. Hayward, Gustav Frisch, S. G. Wilmer and Daniel H. Nich- ols, Senate Reporters, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) each, for services during the present ses- sion. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. By Mr. Bryan, A bill entitled "An Act to create a commission to ex- amine the laws of this State relating to taxation and to prepare any needed amendments thereof, and also appro- priating money for the expenses of said commission." Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Finance. By Mr. Gray, A bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Governor of Maryland to appoint J. Allison Wilmer, late Adjutant |
