1900.] OF THE SENATE. 85 Mr. Moses submitted the following message BY THE SENATE, January 18th, 1900. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body, that when the General Assembly adjourns to-day, it stands adjourned until 8 o'clock, P. M., Monday, Jan- uary 22d, 1900. By order, ALFRED RITTER, Secretary. Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Delegates. ORDERS. On motion of Mr. Kirwan, it was Ordered, that Senators Bryan, Gray and Dennis be excused from attendance, January 18th, on account of business. On motion of Mr. Williams, of Harford, it was Ordered, That Rule XXI, (twenty-one), be arñended, so as to read as follows: Every bill, when introduced, shall be either typewrit- ten or printed, and shall be read the first time and then referred by the President to its appropriate standing committee, unless otherwise ordered, and it shall be the province and duty of said. committee to report said bill, either favorably or unfavorably, with or without amend- merit; when the bill is reported with amendment, the amendment proposed shall be on separate paper and at- tached to the original bill, and upon such report the bill shall be placed upon its second reading. To facilitate folding, filing and backing, the Secretary of the Senate may make such regulations as experience suggests. When bills are engrossed for the third reading, it shall be upon bill paper of the regular form. Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Rules. |
