838 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 21 Mr. Brewington, from Committee on Education, re- ported favorably, Senate bill No. 243, entitled "An Act to add certain ad- ditional sections to Article 77, of the Code of the Public General Laws, to come in after section 17, to be known as ‘Section 17 A, 17 B and 17 C, providing for a Super- intendent of Public Ed ucation." Mr. Rohrback moved that said bill be referred to the Committee on Finance. Which motion prevailed by yeas and nays, as follows: AFFIRMA TIVE. Messrs. President, Kirwan, Applegarth, Marsh, Baker, Putzel, Betts, Ravenscroft, Bouic, Rohrback, Bryan, Wilkinson, Crothers, Williams, of Har. Dick, Williams, of A. A., —16. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Beaseman, Gray, Brewington, Messick, Dennis, Moore, Dodson, Moses, —8. Said bill was referred to the Committee on Finance. Also favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to empower the County Commissioners of Prince George's county to levy a sum of money for the building of a school house for colored children in the 13th Election District, near Lanham's Sta- tion in Prince George's county, Md." Which Was read the second time. Mr. Applegarth, from Committee on Chesapeake Bay and Its Tributaries, reported favorably, Senate bill No. 245, entitled "An Act to repeal and re- enact with amendments sections 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 19, 22, 34, 36, 40, 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 66 and 67 of Art- icle 72 of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Oys- ters.'" |
