AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend on page 2 of the engrossed bill by striking out
from the word "services," in line 5, to the word "the," on
line 14.
Also,
On page 1 of the engrossed bill, amend by adding after
the word "week," on line 28, the following:
"And one lieutenant of mounted poiice, who shall have
charge of the mounted force, with the rank and pay of a
lieutenant of police."
Also,
On the last psge of the engrossed bill amend by strik-
ing out from the word "force," on line 11, down to the
word "the," bn line 16.
Also,
Amend by adding at the end of section 1, in line 19, on
page 3 of the engrossed bill, the following:

"Provided, however, That nothing herein contained
shall be construed as in any manner, changing or alter-
big the method of making appointments to, promotions
in, or removals from the police force, as prescribed by
chapter 16, of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1900,
bnt said police force shall be regulated and managed in
all respects in accordance with said chapter 16, of said
Acts of Assembly of 1900.
Also,
Amend by striking out "Section 2."
Which proposed amendments Were severally adopted.
Which was read the second time and ordered to be en-
grosed for a third reading.
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled "An Act granting and declaring
the sanction and confirmation of the General Assembly of
Maryland, to the bequest made by and contained in the
last will and testament of John Coulter, late of Baltimore
county, deceased, and the codicil thereto, and also to the
bequest made by and contained in the last will and testa-
ment and codicil thereto of Eliza Jane Coulter, late of
Baltimore county, deceased, and ratifying and confirming
the ssid bequests In the will of said John Coulter, to the
