Said bill was re-committed to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Bonnie, from Committee on Judicial Proceeding, re-
ported favorably,
Senate bill No. 223, entitled "An Act to amend Article
75, of the Code of Pnblic General Laws, title ‘Pleading,
Practice and Process at Law,' by adding a new section
thereto relating to actions for libels in newspapers, to
follow section 15 and to be known as ‘Section 15 A.'
Which was read the second time.
Pending further consideration of which,
On motion of Mr. Putzel,
Said bill was made the Special Order of the Day for
Tuesday, March 20th, at 8.30 P. M.
Also, unfavorably,
House bill entitled "An Act to add a new section to
Article 27 of the Public General Laws, tithe ‘Crimes and
Punishments,' sub-title ‘Embezzling Property and Writ-
ings,' to come in after section 74, and to be known as
‘Section 74 A,' and said section to refer to insurance pre-
In ium S."
Which report was adopted.
Also, favorably,
Senate bill No. 154, entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact with amendments section 7 of chapter 457 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at tire
January session, 1898, entitled ‘An Act to repeal Article
40 of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Husband
and Wife,' and to re-enact the same with amendments."
Which was read the second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading
Also, favorably, with proposed amendments,
Senate bill No. 71, entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact with amendments section 745, of Article 3, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title ‘City of
Baltimore,' sub-title ‘Police Commissioners,' as said sec-
tion was enacted by chapter 123, of tire Acts of 1898."
