Senate bill No. 209, entitled "An Act to incorporate
the Southern Trust and Deposit Company of Baltimore."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out in section 1, after the word "it” on 15th line
all the remainder of the section and add the following:
"The home office or place of business shall be located
in the city of Baltimore."
Which proposed amendment was adopted.
FURTHER AMENDMNT PROPOSED.
By Mr. Putzel,
Amend by, adding at the end of section 11, the fol-
lowing:
"Provided, that said corporation shall be subject at all
times to the provisions of the Acts of 1892, chapters 109
and 279, or amendments or supplements thereto."
Which proposed amendment was adopted, and
The bill was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Applegarth presented a petition from Samuel M.
Simmons and 50 others, praying for authority to County
Commissioners to construct a bridge over Narrow's
Ferry, Dorchester county.
Which was read and referred to Senators Applegarth,
Brewiugton and Messick.
Mr. Bouic presented a petition and resolution asking
the Legislators to grant to Johns Hopkins University the
sum of $50,000.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. Williams, of Anne Arundel, it was
Ordered, That J. Boyd Dexter be paid the sum of $67
