stituting for the same, after said word "provided," the
following: "That this section shall not be construed to
confer upon said company any other or grater authority
than it had heretofore provided in reference to the use of
any of the streets, lanes, alleys or roadways within the
corporate limits of the city of Frederick."
Amend said bill by changing word "city” to "county”
wherever it occurs in the corporate name of the com-
pany.
Amend Senate bill No. 189, by inserting the words
"and-streets” after the word "roadways” in line 15 of
section 2, as amended."
Which proposed amendments were severally adopted,
and
The bill was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Peter, from Committee on Elections, reported fav-
orably,
Senate bill No. 176, entitled "An Act to amend section
10 of Article 33, entitled ‘Elections,' of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland."
Pending further consideration of which
On motion of Mr. Bryan,
Said bill was made the Special Order of the Day for
Wednesday, March 14th, at 1.45 P. M.
Mr. Williams, of Harford, from Committee on Consti-
tutional Amendments, reported favorably, with proposed
amendments,
Senate bill No. 171, entitled "An Act to amend section
9 of Article 5, of the Constitution of this State, and to
provide for the submission of said amendment to the
qualified voters of this State for adoption or rejection."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out all of section 9, (proposed Const. section)
after the word "shall” in line 7, of said section 9, of en-
grossed bill, and insert in lieu thereof as follows: "Re-
ceive an annual salary of $4,500," and shall have power
to appoint one deputy at a salary not exceeding $3,000,
and such other assistants at such annual salaries (not
exceeding $1,500 each) as the Supreme Bench of Balti-
more citymay authorize and approve; all of said salaries
