Peter and Laura M. Peter, his wife, to the Vestry of Silver Springs Parish, in Montgomery county, to a certain lot of land in the town of Kensington in said county, and to the holding of said lot by the said Vestry of Silver Spring Parish, in Montgomery county, in fee-simple, with full power to dispose of the same." Which was read the second time. Also, favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to make valid mortgages and assignments of mortgages defectively sworn to and recorded since the 14th day of March, in the year 1898." Which was read the second time. Also favorably, with proposed amendments, Senate bill No. 196, entitled "An Act to repeal and re- enact with amendments section 129 of the Code of Pub- lic General Laws of Maryland, title ‘Crimes and Punish- ments,' sub-title ‘Gaming.' so as to read as follows. AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. In section 1 strike out "jail," in the 9th line of origi— nal bill, and insert the "House of Correction." Strike out the word "and” after the word "jail” on line 9 of original bill, and insert the word "or." Which proposed amendments were severally adopted, and The bill was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Also, favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to add an additional sec- tion to Article 21, of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title ‘Conveyancing,' to follow section 58, and. be designated as ‘Section 85 A." AMENDMENT PROPOSED. By Mr. Moses. In line 7 of the bill, substitute the words "one year” for the words "five years." |
