Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Education. By Mr. Boiiic, A bill entitled "An Act to appropriate a sum of twen- ty-one thousand four hundred and forty dollars and fifty- six cents, and to refund the same to the appropriation for the contingent and necessary expenses of the Adju- tant General's office, and for the maintainance, equipment and discipline of the land forces of the Militia for the fiscal year, ending September 30th, 1900." Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Finance. By Mr. Bryan, (by request,) A bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter, and en- large the powers of the Maryland Telephone and Tele- graph Company, of Baltimore city." Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Corporations. Also, A bill entitled "An Act to amend Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Crimes and Punishments,' sub-title ‘Health,' by adding thereto 3 additional sections to follow section 147 C, to be numbered ‘Sections 147 D, 147 B and 147 F,' respectively, and to be preceded by the heading ‘Second Hand Bottles or Jars." Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Hygiene By Mr. Williams, of Anne Arundel, A bill entitled "An Act to prevent persons from using the sidewalks, pavements or alleys of the 1st and 3rd precincts of the 5th Election District for bicycle riding, and to require persons riding bicycles in said precincts between a-half hour after sunset and a-half hour before |
