shall be placed in the National Hall of Statuary should
not only represent illustrious citizens of Maryland, but
should also furnish an opportunity for the skill of Mary-
land sculptors; now, therefore,
Be it resolved, That the commission created by chapter
311, of the Acts of 1898, be and they are hereby requested
to permit the sculptors of Maryland to furnish models
before awarding a contract for the statues to be placed
in the National Hall of Statuary by the State of Mary-
land.
Which was read the first time.
Whereupon,
Mr. Williams, of Harford, moved to suspend the rules
and place the Joint Resolution upon its second reading.
The roll was called, (two-thirds of the Senators vot-
ing in the affirmative,) and the rules were suspended by
yeas and nays as follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.
Messrs. President, Marsh,
Messick,
Beasman, Moses,
Betts, Peter,
Bouic, Putzel,
Brewington, Rohrbach,
Bryan, Williams, of Har.,
Crothers, Williams, of A. A.

Said Resolution was then read the second time.
Whereupon,

and place the Resolution upon its third reading and
final passage.
