Mr. Moses presented a memorial from the 18th Ward Democratic Association of Baltimore city in favor of the passage of the dollar gas bill. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corporations. Mr. Messick presented a petition from G. B. Stevens, T. L. Chaffinch, W. T. Liden and 20 others, asking for a charter to build a free draw bridge across the Choptank river, at or near Williston, Caroline county, Maryland. Which was read and referred to Senators Messick, Dennis and Applegarth. ORDERS. On motion of Mr. Moses, it was Ordered, That Senators Bryan, Beasman, Gray, Moore and Applegarth be excused from attendance on to-day's session on account of business. On motion of Mr. Williams, of Anne Arundel, it was Ordered, That Mrs. Margaret W. Dexter be paid the sum of twenty-five dollars for services rendered the Senate as per bill rendered, the same having been ap- proved by the Superintendent of Public Buildings. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. Also, Ordered, That Miss Juliet M. Dexter be paid the sum of ten dollars for services rendered the Senate as will ap- pear by bill rendered and approved by the Superintend- ent of Public Buildings. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
