Mr. Baker presented. a petition from E. C. McCoskey
and various other voters of Kent county, in favor of a
General Local Option Law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Mr. Dennis presented a petition from G. N. Vetra and
290 other citizens of Somerset county, requesting the
passage of a law extending the time for dredging for
oysters in Tangier Sound, Somerset county, Maryland.
Also,
A petition from Geo. W. Parks and 378 others, citizens
of Somerset county, in opposition to the leasing of oyster
bottoms in said county.
Which were severally read and referred to the Com-
mittee on Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries.
Also,
A petition from Rev. S. W. Haddaway, of Crisfield,
Md., and 77 others, in opposition to any change in the
Sunday law of Baltimore city.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings.
The President presented a petition from the Fourth
Quarterly Conference of the Patapsco Circuit of the
Methodist Episcopal Church, against any change in the
present Sunday law.
Also,
Protest of Northeast Baltimore Woman's Christian
Temperance Union, Marcelline Ruby Purnell, President,.
against the same.
Also,
Petition of Rev. W. A. MacDonald and 60 others
against the same.
Also,
Petition from S. S. Brodley and 20 others against the
same.
Which were severally read and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.
