The Senate proceeded to a temporary organization. Upon motion of Hon. W. V. Bouic, seconded by Hon. John P. Moore, the Hon. William F. Applegarth was called. to the Chair, and having assumed the same, ad- dressed the Senate. Mr. Williams, of Harford, and Mr. Crothers, of Cecil, escorted the temporary President to the Chair. The Senators-elect were then qualified by the Presi- dent pro tem. The Senate then proceeded to the nomination and election of President. Mr. Crothers nominated the Hon. John Hubner, of Baltimore county. - The nomination was seconded by Mr. Moore. Mr. Dick nominated the Hon. Stevenson A. Williams, of Harford county. The nomination was seconded by Mr. Putzel. ELECTION OF PRESIDENT. Mr. Applegarth named Hon. John Hubner. Mr. Baker named Hon. Stevenson A. Williams Mr. Beasman named Hon. John Hubner. Mr. Betts named Hon. John Hubner. Mr. Bouic named Hon.
