By Mr. Brewington (by request),
A bill entitled "An Act to create a Treasurer for Somer-
set county, and to provide for the collection of taxes
therein."
Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Dennis, Brewington and Moore.
By Mr. Williams, of Harford, (by request,)
A bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 2; of chapter
310, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
of 1892, entitled ‘An Act prescribing the regulations and
conditions upon which the Board of Public Works shall
sell the State's interest- in all works of improvement, as
said section was amended by chapter 172, of the Acts of
1896."
Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Finance.
By Mr. Williams, of Anne Arundel,
A bill entitled "An Act to repeal chapter 285, of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
January session 1884, entitled "An Act to repeal section
21, of Article 10, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title ‘Attorneys-at-Law, and Attorneys-in-Fact,' sub-title
‘States' Attorneys,' so far as the same applies to Anne
Arundel county, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, providing for the compensation of the State's
Attorney for Anne Arundel county."
Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Judicial Proceedings.
Also,
A bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 247, 248 and
249, of Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws of
Maryland, title ‘Crimes and Punishments,' sub-title
‘Sabbath Breaking,' and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments. and to add certain new sections to said Article,
under said sub-title, said new sections to follow sections
247, 248 and 249, respectively, and to be designated ‘247
A, 247 B, 248 A, and 249 A, 249 B, 249 C, and 249 P.'"
Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.
