1900.] OF THE SENATE. 235 Mr. Wilkinson presented a petition from James H. Thomas and 125 oystermen of Calvert county and St. Mary's county, praying the General Assembly not to re- peal the Oyster Law, relating to Patuxent river. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries. ORDERS. On motion of Mr. Rohrback, it was Ordered, That the sum of eighty-three dollars be paid to Charles S. Sewall of Frederick county, for attendance and mileage while acting as Sergeant-at-Arms at the opening session of the Senate, and pending the qualifica- tion of the present Sergeant-at-Arms. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. On motion of Mr. Ravenscroft, it was Ordered, That the postmaster of the Senate be and he is hereby directed to furnish each Senator, the Secre- retary, Journal Clerk and Reading Clerk $15.00 worth. of postage stamps, and the otherelective officers of the Senate $5.00 worth of postage stamps each. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. By the President, A bill entitled "An Act to amend section 1, of chapter 369, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1898, entitled an Act to incorporate the Old Line Real Estate and Trust Company, of Baltimore city, and to re- peal sections 2,3, 4, 6, 11, 12 and 13, of said chapter, and to re-enact certain of these sections with amendments, and to add certain additional sections to said chapter, granting addibional powers, and to be known as ‘Sections 6 A, 6 B, 6 0, 10 A and 10 B.'" Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Corporations. |
