Whereas, As it has been found by experience that
three thousand copies are needed to suply the demand
for this document, it has been ordered by the General
Assembly at several past sessions that an extra thousand
be printed. No provision is made for binding any copies
in cloth, and there is need of 500 or 600 copies so bound,
and the General Assembly has so ordered in the past.
These copies bound in cloth are exchanged with the Ed-
ucation Departments of other States, and sent upon ap-
plication lo colleges and universities, and a few distrib-
uted to the School Board of the State.

Therefore ordered, That the State Printer be authorized
to print one thousand copies of the Thirty-third Annual
Report of the State Board of Education, showing the con-
dition of the Public Schools of Maryland, for the year
ending July 31, 1899, and to bind 500 copies in cloth and
500 in paper; and that a cloth bound copy and five copies
bound in paper be delivered to each member of the Gen-
eral Assembly, and the rest to the Secretary of the State
Board of Education for distribution to the city of Balti-
more and the counties of the State; the cost not to ex-
ceed the sum of one thousand dollars, to be paid out of
the amount appropriated for State Printing.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

$50,000 for the year of 1900, and the sum of $50,000 for
the year 1901, to the John's Hopkins University."
