The Secretary of State appeared, and delivered a mes-
sage from the Executive.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and
delivered the following message:
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 30th, 1900.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We propose, with your concurrence the appointment
of a Joint Special Committee of five, three on the part
of the House and two on the part of the Senate, to in-
vestigate, and report to the General Assembly upon the
affairs of St. John's College, Annapolis, in accordance
with Resolution No. 41, of the General Assembly of 1832.
We name the said Committee on the part of the House,
Messrs. Pattison, Walbach and Sandman.

Also,
House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 253, of
Article 7, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title ‘Carroll County,' sub-title ‘Westminster.'
Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays."
Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Beasman, Peter and Williams, of Anne Arundel.
Also,
House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Mayor
and Common Council of the town of Union Bridge, Car-
roll county, Maryland, to issue bonds to raise money to
pay off the amount of outstanding bonds, heretofore
issued by said municipal corporation under authority
given by the Act of Assembly of 1884, chapter 24, and
to levy, and to collect the necessary taxes for the pay-
ment of said bonds, and the interest thereon."
Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays."
