The Journal of Monday was read and approved.
PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Bryan presented a memorial from Dr. Hiram
Woods and others, directors of the Female House of
Refuge.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. Williams, of Harford, it was
Ordered, That Senator Dodson be excused from to-
day's session.
On motion of Mr. Beasmau, it was
Ordered, That Senators Moore and Applegarth be ex-
cused from last night's session on account of important
business.
On motion of Mr. Putzel, it was
Ordered, That Senators Giay, Dodson and Baker be
excused for their absence from last night's session on ac-
count of business.
On motion of Mr. Peter, it was
Ordered, That the following bills which were incurred.
by the Committee on Inauguration on the part of the
Senate, be paid, the same having been examined by said
committee, and found correct.
