House bill entitled "An Act to appropriate certain
sums of money to the snpport of sundry schools and
charitable institutions in the State of Maryland.for each
of the two fiscal years ending on September 30th, 1901,
and September 30th, 1902, respectively."
Also returned,
Senate bill entitled "An Act to refund to Thomas
Moore, of Calvert county, money paid into the Treasury
for a dredging license which was not issued to him."
Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays."
Also returned,
Senate bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the Con-
sumer's Electric Light, Gas, Heat and Power Company
of Fredermek county."
Endorsed: "Amended, read the third time and passed
by yeas and nays."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED TO AMENDMENT OF COMMITTEE.
After the words "Frederick county," line 7 of amend-
ment, add the words, "and provided further, that said
corporation shall not lay its pipes or conduits or erect
its poles or string its wires along, nnder or over the
streets, lanes and alleys of Frederick city without first
obtaining the consent of the Mayor and Board of Alder-
men of Frederick city."
In line 10 of said amendment strike out the words
"outside of Frederick city."
In line 47 of section 1 of said bill, after the word
"county," insert "except Frederick city."

Amend section 1 of the bill by adding at the end
thereof the following
"Provided, that said corporation shall not lay its pipes
or conduits, or erect its poles, or string its wires along
the public roads of Frederick county without first obtain-
ing the consent of the County Commissioners of Fred-
erick county, nor shall said corporation establish a plant
for the manufacture of gas or electricity in any of the
incorporated towns of Frederick county outside of Fred-
erick city, without first obtaining the consent of the cor
