$500 to St. Paul's English Evangelical Lutheran Church
of Baltimore city, contained in the last will and testa-
ment of Mary Emma Spilcker, late of Baltimore city."

Senate bill entitled "An Act to make valid deeds,
mortgages, bonds of conveyance and bills of sale defec-
tive in the acknowledgment or in the certificate therQof."
Endorsed: "Read the third time, and passed by yeas
and nays."
Also,
Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 164, of
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title ‘City of Baltimore,' the subject of said section rela-
ting to the imposition of State taxes by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, and to provide for the impo-
sition and collection of said taxes by said Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore."

The hour of 12.30 having arrived,
The Senate considered the Order of the Day, being
Senate bill No. 2 entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact with amendmeuts, sections 740 and 741, of Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title ‘City of Balti-
more,' sub-title ‘Police Commissioners,' as said sections
were enacted by chapter 123 of the Acts of 1898, with
proposed amendments."
The amendment offered by Mr. Bryan was rejected by
yeas and nays, as follows
