Harper, postmaster, for services to be rendered after the Senate adjourns. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. On motion of Mr. Bouic, it was Ordered, That James W. Owens he paid the sum of $25 for services rendered the Committee on Judicial Pro- ceedings in preparing the Omnibus Bequest Bill as the Senate's portion of said charge." Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. Also. Ordered, That Vim. J. C. Dulany Co., State printers, be paid the sum of seven dollars and fifty cents for printing five hundred yea and nay lists, to he taken out of the appropriation for State printing. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. Mr. Crothers, from Committee on Finance, reported favorably, House bill entitled "An Act to add an additional sec- tion to Article 49 of the Code of Public General Laws title ‘Interest and Usury,' to be known as ‘Section 2' of said Article, and to provide for the prevention of usury and extortion on the part of certain concerns or individ- uals lending money on chattel mortgages in the State of Maryland." Mr. Wilkinson moved that further consideration of said. bill be indefinitely postponed. Which motion was rejected by yeas and nays as fol-- lows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs.
