Mr. Williams, of Anne Arundel, moved that said motion be laid on the table. Which motion was rejected by yeas and nays as fol- lows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Baker, Williams, of A A., Williams, of Har., —3. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Beasman, Marsh, Betts, Messick, Bouic, Moses, Brewington, Peter, Crothers, Putzel, Dennis, Ravenscroft, Dodson, Wilkinson—15. Kirwan, And the bill was substituted for the unfavorable re port. FURTHER AMENDMENT PROPOSED. By Mr. Williams, of Harford, Add to section 3 the following: "Provided that prior to the removal of said records the sum of $4,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to furnish under the direction of the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties, respectively, transcripts of such records, the removal of which is pro- vided for in this Act, as far as the same relates to said counties, respectiyely; provided, however, that the cost of transcribing shall not exceed such rate now prescribed by law, to be approved by the respective Circuit Courts of said counties; and that such transcripts shall remain in the office of the Register of Wills for said respective counties and become the property of said office; and that said sum or such parts thereof, as may be necessary, shall be paid from time to time by the Treasurer upon the warrant of the Comptroller to said respective Regis- |
