Wastiington, Allegany. Garrett, Harford, Charles, Cal-
vert and Kent counties."
Pending consideration of which,
By motion of Mr. Williams, of Harford,
Said bill, with proposed amendments, was made the
Special Order of the Day for Thursday, January 25th, at
1 P.M.
Mr. Bouic, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported favorably Senate bill No. 11.

Entitled "An Act to add a new section to Article 35,
of the Maryland Code of Public General Laws, entitled
‘Evidence,' to follow after section 35 of said Article, un-
der the sub-title ‘Proof of Consideration,' and to be
known as ‘Section 35 A.'
Which bill was read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Bouic, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported favorably, with proposed amendment.

Senate bill No. 2, entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact with amendments sections 740 and 741, of Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title ‘City of Balti-
more,' sub-title ‘Police Commissioners,' as said sections
were enacted by chapter 123 of the Acts of 1898."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words "a bill” and insert
"Entitled An Act to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments, sections 740 and 741, of Article 4, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title ‘City of Baltimore,' sub-title
‘Police Commissioners,' as said sections were enacted by
chapter 123, of the Acts of 1898."
"Section 1. Re it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 740 and 741, of Article 4, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore City," sub-
title "Police Commissioners," as amended and re-enac-
ted by the Act of 1898, chapter 123, be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as
to read as follows:
740. "There shall be appointed by the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Senate, three
sober and discreet persons who shall have been residents
