On motion of Mr. Bramble,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Insurance and
Loans to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to add a new
section to Article 23, of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title 'Corporations, ' sub-title Insurance
Department, ' to follow section 134, to be designated as
'Section 134 A, ' and to read as follows. "

Also,

Leave was gran ed to the Committee on Insurance and
Loans to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal sec-
tion 134, of Article 23, of the Public General Laws of
Maryland, title 'Corporations, ' sub-title 'Insurance De-
partment, ' and to re-enact the same with amendments. "

On motion of Mr. Foster,

Leave was granted to the Harford county delegation
to introduce a bill to add a new section to Article 13 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title 'Har-
ford County, ' sub-title 'Havre-de-Grace, ' to be known as
'Section 218. '"

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Knott, from Committee on Corporations, on be-
half of majority, reported favorably, with proposed
amendments,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 461, of
Article 4, Public Local Laws, entitled 'City of Baltimore, '
sub-title 'Gas Companies, ' as amended and re-enacted by
chapter 123, of the Acts of 1898, and re-enact the same
with amendments. '"

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Provided, upon apt proceedings, said charge shall, by
final decree of the Court of Appeals, be adjudged to be
sufficient to yield to the Consolidated Gas Company of
Baltimore city a net revenue adequate for the payment
of au annual cash dividend of 4 per cent, upon its pres-
ent capital stock, after deducting from the annual gross
receipts of said company, from all sources, such allowances
only as the Court, upon a full and careful investigation of
the facts and of the books of said company shall adjudge
to be reasonable, proper and just for the cost of produc-
ing and distribution of gas, operating expenses, salaries
