On motion of Mr. Clark, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Hutton be excused from to-day's
attendance on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Robinson, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Cover be excused from to-day's ses-
sion on account of illness

On motion of Mr. Mitchell, it was

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on
Claims furnish to the Committee on Ways and Means a
complete list of the employees of this House, who would
be entitled to the stamps and stationery provided for in
the order of Mr. Robinson, of Baltimore city, offered on
or about the 12th instant; and also to designate the posi-
tions filled by said employees, the date of their qualifi-
cation, the date from which they have drawn their per
diem, and the city or county where such employees re-
sided at the, time of appointment.

On motion of Mr. Anderson, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Truitt, of Worcester, be excused
from to-day's session on account of sickness.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Bennett,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 44,
and 45 and 48 of Article 25, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title 'County Commissioners, ' sub-
title 'Draining Lands, ' and re enact the same with amend-
ments. "

On motion of Mr. Robinson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to prohibit any fire
insurance company incorporated under the laws of any
State of the United States (except Maryland), and foreign
countries to own or control the stock of any other insur-
ance company doing business in this country. "
