Council of Baltimore, and to provide for the imposition
and collection of said taxes by said Mayor and City
Council. "

Which was read a first time, and at the request of Mr.
Latrobe, from the Committee on Ways and Means, was
referred to the Judiciary Committee.

Also,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to add a new section to
Article 25, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'Justice of the Peace, ' sub-title 'Process and Practice, ' to
be designated as 'Section 29 A, ' and to follow section 29
of said Article. "

Which was read a first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on the Judiciary.

Also,

Senate bill entitled "An Act supplementary to an Act
entitled an Act to incorporate the House for the Aged of
Frederick city, passed by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, 1892, and known as ' Chapter 87, ' of the Act of the
General Assembly of that year. "

Which was read a first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

Also, delivered the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

January 18th, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, the appointment of a Joint Special Committee to
consist of five members, three of the House and two on
the part of the Senate, whose duty it shall be to corres-
pond with the General Assembly of Virginia, or Com-
mittee thereof, for the purpose of having enacted con-
current legislation on the part of Maryland and Virginia
relative to fish and oysters in the Chesapeake Bay and
its Tributaries.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Applegarth and Wilkinson.
