Mr. Knott, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably, with proposed amendments,
House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the creation
of a franchise commission for Baltimore city, said provi-
sions to be a part of Article 4, Public Local Laws, sub-
title 'Miscellaneous Local Laws, ' and to be numbered
'Sections 907, 908, 909, 910, 911, 9123 913, 914, 915, 916,
917, 918, 919, 920, 921, 922 and 923. "
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
1 Amend the bill by inserting on line 6, after the fig-
ures 923, the words "to follow immediately after section
906. "
2 Amend section 1, line 6, by inserting after the fig-
ures 923, the words "to follow immediately after section
906. "
3 Strike out section 907, and insert in lieu thereof the
following:
"The President of the Second Branch of the City Coun-
cil, City Register and City Comptroller of Baltimore city,
and I wo persons residents of Baltimore city, to be ap-
pointed by the Governor as hereinafter provided, shall
constitute the Franchise Commission of Baltimore city. "
"The Governor shall by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Senate, appoint two capable persons who shall
be registered voters of the city of Baltimore, to be mem-
bers of the Franchise Commission of Baltimore city, and
each commissioner so appointed, shall take office on the
first Monday of May. next ensuing, his appointment and
shall hold office for a term of — years, or until his suc-
cessor is appointed and qualified. "
