Amend by inserting in line 7 of section 1, after the
word "Company, " the words "Frederick County, Mary-
land. "

Amend by striking out the whole of "Section 17" and
substituting the following:

"Section 17. And be it further enacted, That the stock-
holders of said company shall be liable to the amount of
their respective share or shares of stock in said company
for all its debts and liabilities upon note, debt or other-
wise. "

Sec. 18. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Also favorably, with proposed amendments,

House bill entitled "An Act to extend the privileges,
enlarge the powers and amend the charter of the Union
Mills Savings Bank of Carroll county, Md., so as to en-
able it to loan money on or purchase promissory and ne-
gotiable notes, bills obligatory or other evidences of
debt. "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out the whole of section 2, and sub-
stitute the following:

"Sec. 2. And be it further enacted that the. stockhold-
