planting.

Which unfavorable report was adopted.

Mr. Knott, from Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably, with proposed amendment,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to enlarge the powers and
privileges of the New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk
Railroad Company. "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend section 2 by striking out all after the word
"State, " on the fifth line of said section.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Latrobe, from the Committee on Ways and Means,
reported favorably, with the request that the some be
referred to the Frederick county delegation.

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Treasurer
to pay the sum of $800 annually to the School Commis-
sioners of Frederick county, to assist in maintaining a
High School in said county and to authorize the visitors
of Frederick College in said county, to turn over to said
School Commissioners, the buildings and grounds of said
college for the use of the public schools of said county,
and also to repeal so much of the Act of 1798, chapter
107, as directs the payment of the sum of $800 annually
to the visitors of the Frederick county schools. "

Which was read and referred to the Frederick county
delegation.

Mr. Knott, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably, with proposed amendment,

House bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of
the Susquehanna Power and Paper Company of Harford
county, a corporation organized under the Public General
Laws of the State of Maryland, to enlarge its powers and
to change the corporate, name thereof by omitting there-
from the words 'Harford county. ' "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

To follow the word "conducted, " at the end of line 23,
in section 3.

"But it is expressly provided that the right of condem-
