Mr. Duncan, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably, with amendment,
House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 743, of
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'City of
Baltimore, ' sub-title 'Police, ' and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and to add an additional section to
said Article 4, to be numbered '743 A, ' and to come in
. after section 743, as passed by the General. Assembly of
Maryland, session of 1892, chapter 309. "
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "a bill, " and substitute
Entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact section 763, of
chapter 123, of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1898, title 'City of Baltimore, ' sub-title
'Police Commissioners. ' "
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland that section 763, of chapter 123, of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1898, title 'City
of Baltimore, ' sub-title 'P61ice Commissioners, ' be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:
Section 763. The said Board of Police Commissioners
are authorized, empowered and directed to grant leave of
absence with pay for a period of 20 days in each consecu-
tive year of service to each of the officers of police, po-
licemen and detectives of the regular force employed by
the said board, nor shall any enforced absence with leave
on account of sickness or death be deducted from the pay
of any such officer of police, policeman or detective or
from the 20 days leave as herein provided for.
Section 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
