House bill entitled "An Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 24, of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled 'Crimes and Punishments, ' to come in after 208,
sub-title 'Minors Care and Protection of, ' and to be known
as 'Section 208 A. ' "

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out the word in line 12, after the word "child, "
strike the word "of, " and insert in lieu thereof the word
"under. "

Which was adopted.

After the word "purposes, " in line 13, strike out the
word "last, " and insert in lieu thereof the word "herein. "

Strike out the words "or pauper, " in line 10, after the
word "mendicant. "

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 01, of
Article 77, of the Code of Public General Laws of the
State of Maryland, title 'Public Education, ' as re-enacted
by chapter 135. of the Acts of" Assembly of the State of
Maryland at the session of 1896, and to re-enact said
section so as to read as follows. '"

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In the 4th line of the title strike out all after the
word "section" and insert the following, "with amend-
ments. "

In line 1 strike out the"first word "section. "

At the beginning of line 9 before the word "and" in-
sert the words "section two. "

After the titling insert the following:

Section 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 61, of Article 77, of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title 'Public Educa-
tion, ' as re-enacted by chapter 135, of the Acts of Assem-
