deepen the channel of the entrance to the harbor of An-
napolis, Maryland, so as to obtain a ships channel of 150
feet wide, and 28 feet deep at mean low water from
Chesapeake Bay to the wharves of the United States
Naval Academy in said harbor.

Therefore, be it resolved by the General Assembly of
the State of Maryland, That the delegation in Congress
from this State be and they are hereby requested to
urge upon Congress to make an appropriation of the sum
of $142, 000 with which to make said river and harbor
improvements.

Be it farther resolved, That the Secretary of State be
and he is hereby requested to transmit a copy of these
resolutions under the seal of the State, to each of the
Senators and Representatives now in Congress from this
State.

The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Board of
County School Commissioners of Carroll county to refund
to Mary A. Hoff, of Carroll county, State of Maryland,
widow of Levi B. Hoff, of said county and State, deceas-
ed, $43. 75, less 5 per cent, for money paid by the said
Levi B. Hoff in his lifetime for an unused hotel license
issued in said Carroll county. "

Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays. "

Also,

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal the 154th section
of Article 8, of the Code of Public Local Laws of the
State of Maryland, relating to the town of Taneytown, in
Carroll county, as amended by section 154, chapter 584,
of the Acts of 1894, and to re-enact the same in an
amended form. "

Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays. "

Also.

House bill entitled "An Act to empower the United
Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore city, a body corp-
orate, formed under the General Incorporation Law of
