The Journal of the 17th was read and approved.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Corkran, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Andrews be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Finzel, it was

Ordered, That John L. McCusker be paid the sum of
$19. 50 for three screens, as per order of the House of
Delegates.

Which was read, considered and referred to the Com-
mittee on Claims.

On motion of Mr. Latrobe, it was

Ordered, That a special committee of five (5) be ap-
pointed by the Speaker, to be known as "The Committee
on the Protection of Game and Fish. "

Which was adopted, and the Speaker announced that
the said committee would be hereafter appointed.

On motion of Mr. Linthicum, it was

Ordered, That W. J. Werntz be paid the sum of $5 for
adjusting combination lock on Speaker's safe, January
18, 1900.

Which was read, considered and referred to the Com-
mittee on Claims.
