Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 164, of
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title 'City of Baltimore, ' the subject of said section rela-
ting to the imposition of State taxes by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, and to provide for the impo-
sition and collection of said taxes by said Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore. "
Also,
Senate bill entitled "An Act supplementary to an Act
entitled an Act to incorporate the Home for the Aged of
Frederick city, passed by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, session of 1892, and known as 'Chapter 87, ' of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of that
year. "
Also,
House bill entitled "An Act to repeal chapter 442, of
the laws passed at the January Session of 1898, title
'Talbot County, ' sub-title 'Fish. ' "
Which were severally read a second time, and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.
There being no objection, the Rules were suspended
and the following order was submitted by Mr. Latrobe:
Whereas, At the request of the present Treasurer.
Hon. Thomas J, Shryock, and the Treasurer-elect, Hon,
Murray Vandiver, it is requested under section 23 of Art-
icle 95, that the Finance Committee of the Senate and
the Ways and Means Committee of the House, examine
and count on Saturday, January 20th, 1900, at 10 o'clock,
A. M., the securities of the State of Maryland purchased
by the Treasurer for the use of the Sinking Fund, and
to burn all cancelled Bonds and Certificates of Stock be-
longing to the over-due debt of the State which was
purchased for the use of the Sinking Fund, and
the said committee shall make a detailed report of their
findings, and that the same shall be spread upon the
Journals of the Senate and House in order that such
record may be preserved.
