On motion of Mr. Knott,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to amend the char-
ter of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Order of Odd
Fellows, as incorporated by chapter 18, of the Acts
passed at the January session of the General Assembly
of Maryland, of 1880, by changing the name of said cor-
poration to the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Independ-
ent Order of Odd Fellows. "
On motion of Mr. Wolfinger,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to provide for the elec-
tion of School Commissioners in Washington county. "
On motion of Mr. Norris, of Carroll,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to extend the privi-
leges, enlarge the powers, and amend the charter of the
Union Bridge Banking Company of Carroll county, Mary-
land, so as to enable it to loan or purchase promissory
and negotiable notes, bills obligatory or other evidences
of debt. "
On motion of Mr. Foster,
Leave was granted to the Harford county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 261,
262 C, 262 K, 262N, and 262 Q, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title 'Harford County, ' sub-title 'Taxes, ' as
enacted by the Acts of 1898, chapter 204, and to re-enact
the same with amendments. "
On motion of Mr. Real,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to add a new section
to Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'City
of Baltimore, ' sub-title 'Police Commissioners, ' to follow
section 745, and to be designated as 'Section 745 A. ' "
Mr. Linthicum asked that his bill entitled "Dorchester
County, " sub-title "Education, " providing for a High
School at Hancock, in Dorchester county, be referred first
to the Committee on Education, and then to the Com-
mittee on Ways and Means.
