PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.

Mr. Contee presented the petition of Howard O. Em-
mons and other citizens of Prince George's county, against
the repeal of the Sunday law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judiciary.

Mr. Dryden presented the petition of Rev. G. T. Alder-
son and 30 other citizens of Somerset county, for a Gen-
eral Local Option law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.

The Speaker presented the petition of Rev. W. E. Bird
and others of Havre-de-Grace, against modification of
Sunday laws.

Also,

The petition of F. A. Brown and 33 other citizens of
Howard county, against same.

Which were severally read and referred te the Com-
mittee on Judiciary.

Mr. Pattison presented the petition of citizens of Dor-
chester county, asking the repeal of the local oyster law
of Dorchester county, affecting the lower waters of said
county.

Which was read and referred to the Dorchester
county delegation.

Mr. —————— presented the petition of Capt. John
Pyne and 37 others of Talbot county, asking that the
Choptank river be divided between the oystermen of
Talbot and Dorchester counties.

Also,

The petition of Oliver M. Hanson and 47 other citizens
of Talbot county, asking for same.

Also,

The petition of B. F. Wamsley and other citizens of
Talbot county, asking for same.

Which were severally read and referred to the Dor-
chester and Talbot delegations.

Mr. Collins (by request of Mr. Willis), presented the
petition of W. J. Wrightson and others against any
shortening of the season for taking oysters.
