Mr. Deets presented the petition of 47 citizens of Ken-
sington, Garrett Park, and Linden, Montgomery county,
in favor of a General Local Option Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on.
Temperance.

The Speaker presented the petition of 1, 000 citizens of
Baltimore in favor of the Sanford bill.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judiciary.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Buckey, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Waters be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Wilson, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Finzel be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Jeffers, it was

Ordered, That Messrs. Choate and Stewart be excused
from attending to-day's session, on account of sickness;
and Mr. Sandman on account of important business.

On motion of Mr. Norman, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Smith -be excused on account of

sickness.

On motion of Mr. Corkran, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Linthicum be excused on account of
sickness, from to-day's session.

On motion of Mr. Simmons, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Gibson be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Wolfe, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Hanson be excused from attendance
at to-day's session on account of illness.

On motion of Mr. Collins, it was

Ordered, That Messrs. Willis and Dudley, of Talbot, be
excused on account of sickness, from to-day's session.
