Mr. Collins, from Committee on Claims, reported favor-
ably,
House bill entitled "An Act to refund a sum of money
out of the State Treasury, to John Keilholtz, for State
; tax paid by him on trust funds, such funds being exempt
from taxation; whereas, John Keilholtz, of Rising Sun,
Cecil county, Maryland, as guardian for Harry S. Kiel-
holtz and Alma Kielholtz, for trust funds amounting to
$5, 362, and whereas, the said trust funds were invested
in real estate mortgages, paid during the years 1892, to
1894, inclusive, as State tax on the said trust funds, the
sum of $126. 94; and whereas, during the years aforesaid,
money invested in real estate mortgages was not liable
to taxation. "
Which was read a first time.
The Committee on Rules made the following unfavor-
able report on the following order, introduced by Mr.
Waller:
Ordered, That the Speaker of this House shall appoint
a Standing Committee, to be composed of nine members
of the House, to be known as a "Committee on Local
Laws, " to which shall be referred all bills and measures
of a local character.
