for the care and custody of the Rotunda, Committee
Rooms and Corridors of the House of Delegates.

We recommend that the Speaker be authorized to as-
sign and reassign the clerks and employes of the House,
from time to time, as their capacity and efficiency may
justify and indicate, and that he may be given power to
suspend any employe from duty without pay, for neglect
of duty or other misconduct.

We recommend that the Chairman of the Committee on
Claims, Ways and Means and Corporations, be each au-
thorized to appoint a clerk to their respective commit-
tees.

We further recommend that the compensation of all
clerks and employees shall be five dollars ($5) per diem
each, except the Chief Clerk, Journal Clerk and Reading
Clerk, who shall be paid ten dollars ($10) a day, the Clerk
to the Committee on Claims and Chief Engrossing Clerk
shall be paid six dollars ($6) a day each.

We recommend that the pages be ordered to assist
the folders and officers of the House, in said duties as
may be assigned them at all times, when not actually en-
gaged in active duties of the office of page.
