On motion of Mr. Norris, of Carroll,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to settle the
claims for State and county taxes against William W.
Smelser, late tax collector of the Eleventh Election Dis-
trict of Carroll county, Maryland, and against his sureties,
Samuel M. Hoff, Jeremiah Greenwood, William W. Vail
and Jacob Frounfelter, all of Carroll county and State of
Maryland. "

On motion of Mr. Truitt, of Baltimore county,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Hygiene to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 9, 10,
11 and 12, of Article 43, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title 'Health, ' sub-title 'Local Boards of Health, '
so far as the same relates to Baltimore county, and to
re-enact the same with amendments and additions. "

On motion of Mr. Curtis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to appropri-
ate certain sums of money for the Sisters of the Third
Order of Saint Francis of the city of Baltimore, to be
used for the medical treatment and support of indigent
sick and suffering persons under their charge in Saint
Joseph's Hospital in Baltimore city. "

On motion of Mr. Simmons,

Leave, was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to place a
proper tablet on the Taney Monument in front of State
House, at Annapolis, commemorative of the life and ser-
vices of Roger B. Taney, and to appropriate a sum of
money therefor. "

On motion of Mr. Clark,

Leave was granted to the Montgomery county delega-
tion to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to add a new
section to Article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title 'Montgomery County, ' sub-title 'Roads, ' to follow
section 176, and to be designated as 'Section 176 A. '
