House bill entitled "An Act to define the powers and
authority of Juvenile Institutions and Societies. "

Amendment proposed by the Judiciary Committee:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

After words "placing out" in line 15, insert "and it is
the duty of the managers to cause every child so placed
out, to be visited not less than once in six months, in or-
der to inquire into its welfare. "

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was read a second time, and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, sections 18 and 19, of Article 42, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title 'Habeas Corpus, ' sub-
title 'Procedure in Relation to Minors. "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

By Judiciary Committee:

In sub-section "two" of section "eighteen, " after the
word "depraved" in line "nine, " insert the words "or
suffering through the neglect, bad habits or vicious con-
duct of its parents, guardian or other custodian. "

for a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:

House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the creation
of a Board of Police Examiners of Baltimore city, to de-
fine and prescribe the duties thereof, and to regulate ap-
pointments to, promotions, reductions in ranks, and
transfers in and removals from the police force of said
city, and to repeal all Acts and parts of Acts inconsistent
with this Act, said provisions to be a part of Article 4,
Public Local Laws, sub-title 'Police Commissioners, and
to be numbered 745 A, 745 B, 745 C, 745 D, 745 B, 745
F. "
