PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.

Mr. Sanford presented the petitioner First Assistants
and Teachers of the 7th Grade Grammar Schools.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Education.

Mr. Buckley presented the petition of seventy-five citi-
zens of Monrovia, Frederick county, praying the Legis-
lature to defeat the Pharmacy Bill.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Hygiene.

Mr. Mitchell presented the petition of J. B. Almony
and others, opposing the passage of any measure provi-
ding for the sale of liquor in Bel Air and Bel Air pre-
cinct of Harford county.

Which was read and referred to the Harford county
delegation.

Mr. Garner (by request), presented the petition of Jos.
R. Raley and others, to allow the use of nets of smaller
mesh to be used in the catching of fish in the waters of
St. Mary's county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Chesapeake Bay and Its Tributaries.

Mr. Mitchell presented the petition of Thomas Lochany
and others, protesting against the passage of the bill
known as the 'Pharmacy Act. '

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Hygiene.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Jeffers, it was

Ordered, That Messrs. Choate and Stewart be excused
from to-day's session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Dunn, it was

Ordered, That Messrs. Mencke and Brown, of Balti-
more city, be excused from attendance at to-day's session
on account of important business.

On motion of Mr. Disharoon, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Dryden be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.
