Code of Public General Laws, relative to 'Crimes and Pun-
ishments, ' by adding two additional sections thereto, en-
titled section 141 A and 141 B, under sub-title 'Health
Employment of Children. '"

Which was read a second time, considered, and on
motion of Mr. Scrimger, referred to the Committee on
Temperance.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 40, of
Article 17, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'Clerks of Courts', sub-title 'Clerk of the Court of Ap-
peals. ' as repealed and re-enacted by the Acts of 1894,
chapter 298, and to re-enact the same with amendments. "

Which was read a second time, and considered.

Mr. Waller moved to strike out the "enacting clause, "

And the motion was seconded by Mr. Stewart.

The motion was lost.

Mr. Satterfield submitted the following proposed
amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In line 32, strike out the words "Washington County, "
and insert in lieu thereof "all the counties of the State
and Baltimore city. "

A division was called for, and

The call being sustained,

The amendment was not concurred in.

Mr. Waller submitted the following proposed amend-
ment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

After the words "Washington county, " in line 32, in-
sert the following words, "and Wicomico county. "

Mr. Duncan moved that the whole matter be laid upon
the table indefinitely.

A division was called for,

And the call being sustained,

The motion was lost.

The question then recurring upon the amendment pro-
posed by Mr. Waller,

The amendment was not concurred in.
