office of St. Mary's county, from 1794 to 1864. "

In section 1, 8th line, after the word "order, " strike
out the words "for which he shall receive the same com-
pensation as is allowed for similar work in his said of-
fice; " and at end of section after word "county, " amend
by adding "provided that the costs of said work shall not
exceed the sum of fifty dollars. "
