The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
following message:
By THE SENATE,
January 3rd, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body, that the Senate and House of Delegates
appoint a committee of eight, five on the part of the
House and three on the part of the Senate, to wait on
the Governor-elect and inform him of his election and to
request his attendance at the State House in Annapolis
on Wednesday, January 10th, 1900, at 12 o'clock noon, to
qualify according to the requirements of the Constitu-
tion and the form of government of the State of Mary-
land, and to make arrangements for the inaugural cere-
monies.
We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs.
Bryan, Peter and Ravenscroft.

Mr. Crothers offered the following message:

Gentlemen of the Senate:
We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of eight, five on the part of
the House and three on the part of the Senate, to wait
on the Governor-elect and inform him of his election,
and request his attendance on Wednesday, January 10th,
at 12 M., at the State House, to qualify according to the
Constitution of the State, and to make arrangements for
the inaugural ceremonies, and we 'concur therein.
