AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In line 11 strike out the word "ten" and insert in lieu
thereof the word "twelve. "

In lines 27 and 28 strike out the words "and one-half
of the fine shall be paid to the informer "

The bill was read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading. "

House bill entitled "An Act to regulate the payment of
wages, and to prohibit certain oppressive exactions and
restrictions on the part of employees in the payment of
wages, and providing a penalty for the violation of the
provisions thereof, the same to add 10 additional sections
to Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws, to come
in after section 169, under the new sub-title 'Protection
of Employees, ' and to be known as 'Sections 169 H, 169
I, 169 J, 169 K, 169 L, 169 M, 169 N, 169 O, 169 P and
169 Q. '"

Which was read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to change the name of the
Potomac and Severn Railway Company, and to grant
certain additional powers and privileges to said corpora-
tion, and to confirm franchise and privileges granted to
said corporation by the Mayor, City Counsellor and Al-
dermen of the city of Annapolis. "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
By Mr. Feldmeyer,

Amend by adding at the end of section 7 the follow-
ing:

"Provided, however, that said corporation shall in all
respects be subject to the provisions of chapter 123 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1898, and all ordi-
nances passed by the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, and shall be subject in every respect to the control
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and so far
as its operations may be carried on in the city of Balti-
more, and nothing herein contained shall be construed to
the contrary. "
