The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

March 26th, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message concurring in the
Joint Resolution No. 9, of the Senate, to appoint a Joint
Committee of the Senate and House of Delegates to con-
fer with a like committee from the State of. Virginia for
the purposes set forth in said Joint Resolution, and in
pursuance thereof we have appointed on the part of the
Senate, Senators Applegarth, Wilkinson and Dennis.

Mr. Satterfield submitted the following message to
the Senate.

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message in regard to the ap-
pointment of a Joint Committee of the Senate and House
of Delegates in accordance with Joint Resolution No. 9,
to confer with a like committee from the State of Vir-
ginia for the purposes set forth in said Joint Resolutions
and pursuance thereof.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Roberts, Linthicum, Lancaster and Satterfield.
