The Journal of the 26th inst, was read and approved.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.

Mr. Walsh presented a petition signed by C. D. Spur-
rier and 56 other voters and taxpayers of Union Bridge
District of Carroll county, against the passage of the
Norris' Local Option bill for said district.

Which was read and referred to the Carroll county
delegation.

Mr. Wolfe presented the petition of Samuel H. Owens
and 30 others of Howard and Prince George's counties,
against the passage of the side path cycle bill.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Roads and Highways.

ORDERS.
Mr. Wolfe submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the chief engrossing clerk be paid the-
same per diem as the reading clerk of the House, journal
clerk and chief clerk.

Which,

On motion of Mr. Stewart,

Was laid on table.

On motion of Mr. Close, It was

Ordered, That Mr. Radcliffe be excused from session
to-day on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Bennett, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Waller be excused from to-day's
session on account of sickness.

Mr. Truitt, (by request) submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Mrs. Anna Killman be paid the sum of
$50 for Washing towels from the 9th day of February
