AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
By Committee on Ways and Means,
Amend section 1, line 2, by striking out the word "six-
teen, " and inserting in lieu thereof the word "eight. "
Amend by striking out all after "section 2, " and insert-
ing in lieu thereof:
Be it enacted, That the Treasurer, on the warrant of
the Comptroller, be and is hereby authorized to pay to
the Board of Managers of the said institution the said
sum of eight thousand dollars upon vouchers of the
Treasurer of the institution, approved by the President
of the Board of Managers. "

Police Commissioners of Baltimore city to pension Louis
T. Norris, G. W. Bailey and Manus A. Behrens, former
policemen of the police force of Baltimore city. "

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to issue its certificates of stock
to an amount not exceeding $5, 000, 000 for the purpose
of providing the money to pay, at the time of doing the
work, the portion and the costs and expenses of grading,
paving and curbing the streets, lanes and alleys of the
city of Baltimore, assessable upon the property benefitted
thereby and for the reimbursement of the city of Balti-
more in respect thereto out of the money derived from
said assessments. "
