On motion of Mr. Hanson, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Wolfe be excused from to-day's.
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Linthicum, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Corcoran be excused from attend-
ance on to-day's session.

On motion of Mr. Foster, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Hopkins be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr, Close, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Graeff be excused for being absent
from to-day's session on account of important business.

On motion of Mr. Roberts, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Waller and Mr. Bennett be excused
from to-day's session on account of important business.

Mr. Siegmund submitted the following order;

Ordered, That the Committee on Hygiene investigate
the system of ventilation now in use in the chamber of the
House of Delegates, and report back to this body not
later than Wednesday, February 1st, whether, in their
opinion, proper use is being made of the appliance for
ventilation now in the State House, and whether or not
some economic plan for the better expulsion of foul air
from, and a better regulation of the temperature in this
chamber cannot be devised.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Gibson, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Simmons be excused from attend-
ance of to-day's session on account of important business.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Hutton,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to grant and declare
the sanction and consent of the General Assembly of
Maryland, to the conveyance by the Trustees of Brooke-
ville Academy, in Montgomery county, to the vestry of
Saint John's Church, Saint Bartholomew's Parish in
